The four-day event, which began on Monday, has attracted referees from all over the country, making it a significant national event. This course provides a platform for officials to enhance their skills and knowledge of the game.

Francis Dube, the secretary of the BBA said the course is important in terms of upping the standards of officiating in the country.

“We are thrilled to host such a prestigious course here in Bulawayo. It’s an incredible opportunity for our local referees to learn from one of the best in the region. Zulfikar Karim brings a wealth of experience, and we’re confident that his insights will greatly benefit our officials.

“This event not only improves the standards of refereeing but also plays a crucial role in fostering better competition across the country. We believe that by improving the quality of officiating, we can raise the level of the game and ensure fair play at every level of basketball in Zimbabwe,” said Dube.
