Nigeria Entertainment Today reports that Goldie was pronounced dead a few minutes after she was rushed to Reddington Hospital, in Victoria Island, Lagos.
Kennis Music label boss Kenny “Keke” Ogungbe, his younger brother ID Ogungbe, Goldie’s close friend Denrele Edun, former Big Brother winners Uti Nwachukwu, Karen Igho and STV presenter Yvonne “Vixen” Ekwere were seen at the hospital.
“Denrele (who was dressed in a red singlet and jeans), Karen, Vixen along with Kenny and ID Ogungbe were actively involved in making sure the body was taken to the morgue,” the paper said.
The paper said the news of Goldie’s death were also confirmed on her Twitter: “It is with heavy heart that I have to inform you all that Goldie passed this night (Thursday) shortly after arriving (in) Lagos.” The same message also reflected on her Facebook fan page.
Goldie was signed to Kennis Music label. She is known for her hit song “You Know It (Gboko lowo e)” featuring eLDee, however, it was her participation in the Big Brother All Stars edition that turned her into a household name in Nigeria and continental hit.
