THE Bulawayo City Council has begun hunting for new directors of Health Services and Housing and Community Services.

Dr Zanele Hwalima retired last September while Mr Isaiah Magagula is retiring at the end of this month.

The council spokesperson Mrs Nesisa Mpofu yesterday confirmed the development.

“The city of Bulawayo is searching for the director of Health Services and that of Housing and Community Services. The director of Health Services, Dr Hwalima retired in September last year  while the director of Housing and Community Services, Mr Magagula is retiring at the end of this month,” she said.

Mrs Mpofu said Dr Hwalima retired after serving council for 27 years while Mr Magagula has served the local authority for 36 years.

She said council could not say how long it will take to replace the two.

“However, the internal process will take about three months and then the council’s recommendations will be referred to the Local Government Board for approval,” said Mrs Mpofu.
