THE City of Bulawayo has invited churches, upcoming artistes, individuals and community associations to stage free public entertainment in parks across the city as part of the 2026 Christmas festivities.
In a statement, Bulawayo Town Clerk Mr Christopher Dube said the annual festivities were aimed at spreading Christmas cheer among residents and creating a festive atmosphere across the city.
“It has been a practice over the years to organise functions or entertainment in the parks to mark the approach of the festive season in order to engender a joyous mood amongst the Bulawayo community at Christmas time.
“The City of Bulawayo is inviting churches, upcoming artistes, individuals and other community associations who would like to stage free public entertainment to participate in the 2026 Christmas Festivities in the Parks,” said Mr Dube.
He said a variety of entertainment programmes could be organised, including choirs, drama, poetry, band music and community singing.
“The activities will be extended to ward level and organisations are invited to participate in this city-wide programme,” he said.
Mr Dube said organisations wishing to participate should submit details of their proposed programmes to the Town Clerk’s office.
“Any group wishing to organise events of this nature should please indicate the day of the week and the time when they would like to stage the entertainment to the office of the Town Clerk,” he said.
Council also appealed to organisations and residents to decorate and spruce up their premises and surroundings while maintaining cleanliness across the city ahead of the festive season.
