A BEAUTICIAN has donated equipment to Chikurubi Female Prison salon.
Cleopatra Shamiso Matonhodze of Cleo’s Beauty Addicts donated a couch, hair styling tools and towels, among an assortment of things.
The donation, to be used by 10 inmates and six prison officers, was received by the Prison Officer In Charge at Chikurubi Female Prison, Superintendent Gloria Tamanikwa.
She thanked Cleo for empowering the inmates and said such support helps the inmates upon completing their sentences.
“This company has become our all-weather friend in terms of empowering our inmates,” said Supt Tamanikwa.
“They started by training the inmates and today they brought equipment necessary to compete with other salons out there.
“This is part of our rehabilitation programmes meant to help inmates integrate back into society.
“Equipped inmates will not commit other offences upon release and that is what we are fighting for, to live in a crime-free country.
“We continue to urge other stakeholders to join hands with us in the rehabilitation and reintegration of inmates.”
