Beijing deploys world’s first humanoid robots on assembly lines

BEIJING. — China has achieved a significant technological milestone by deploying the world’s first humanoid robots on industrial assembly lines, reports CGTN, a partner of TV BRICS.

The robots have been introduced at a smart device production facility in Nanchang, Jiangxi Province, where they are working alongside traditional manufacturing systems. Designed to perform routine yet precise tasks, the humanoid machines handle material picking and component placement within a fully integrated and closed-loop production process.

Each robot completes an operational cycle in approximately 18 seconds, enabling the production of around 300 units per hour with a success rate exceeding 98.5 percent. Unlike conventional robotic arms, the humanoid systems do not require specialised tooling and can be rapidly reconfigured to adapt to different products and workstations, significantly enhancing manufacturing flexibility.

Factory operators report that the humanoid robots help reduce workplace safety risks and minimise the physical strain associated with repetitive tasks. This shift enables human workers to transition towards higher-value roles that require greater technical expertise and decision-making capabilities.

The introduction of humanoid robots is expected to accelerate the transformation of the manufacturing sector, supporting increased productivity, operational efficiency and adaptability. It also strengthens China’s position as a global leader in advanced automation and next-generation industrial technologies, the source stated. — tvbrics.com
