Beitbridge Broncleer bandit busted with 1 500 bottles of banned syrup in bus terminus sting

Thupeyo Muleya, Beitbridge Bureau

A Brazen drug peddler’s shady empire crumbled at Beitbridge’s Dulivhadzimu bus terminus after cops pounced on her stash of 1 496 bottles of banned Broncleer syrup and smuggled chicken cuts – all thanks to a snitch’s tip-off.

Police confirmed they collared Emmaculata Chikara on Sunday (13/04/25) in a daylight raid, exposing her illicit hoard of unregistered medicines.
“This is a major win in our war on drugs,” declared a ZRP insider, as Vice President Constantino Chiwenga vowed to crush the “scourge stealing Zimbabwe’s future”.

VP Chiwenga, during a fiery visit to Beitbridge, warned drug lords: “We’re coming for you.” His new Inter-Ministerial Committee is deploying drones, border narcotics units, and hi-tech surveillance at Beitbridge, Victoria Falls, Chirundu, and Mutare to stamp out smuggling. “We won’t let our children’s lives go up in smoke,” he thundered.

The bust comes as cops ramp up sweeps across transport hubs.
