A DRUG runner’s luck ran out when cops nabbed him red-handed with 13.7kg of dagga stuffed in shopping bags—now he’s trading the Limpopo River for a 7-year prison plunge!
Sithembile Chikanhi thought he could slick-walk his way past authorities on March 18, casually strolling from South Africa with two ‘suspiciously heavy black travel bags.’ But under Operation No to Cross-Border Crimes, eagle-eyed officers pulled him over—only to find three brick-sized parcels hidden among his groceries and clothes.
The verdict? A whopping US$1 371.60 worth of compressed dagga —wrapped tight and ready for the streets.
Beitbridge Magistrates’ Court dropped the hammer, sentencing him to 7 years behind bars.
