Beitbridge readies for Miss Valentine

PREPARATIONS for the inaugural Miss Valentine Beitbridge that will be held at Pagomba Cafe on February 15 are  gathering momentum, show organisers have said.A bevy of 15 beauties are expected to outdo each other on the ramp.

Pagomba Cafe general manager Lovemore Chonzi said they had registered five models from Beitbridge, while five others from Bulawayo have also expressed an interest in the pageant.

He said a number of renowned dancehall artistes from Harare will spice up the event with several others from the border town including Ghetto Preacher playing supporting roles.

“Preparations are now at an advanced stage and we are calling on those women who are interested to register at Pagomba Cafe during work hours.

“Basically we are targeting models  from Beitbridge and others from the Matabeleland region who are confident in their looks. We are targeting a total of 15 models,” said Chonzi.

He said rehearsals will start on Saturday afternoon at Pagomba Cafe. Chonzi added that there are lots of prizes to be won on the day, including the best dressed couple and the best dressed lady on that day.

Chonzi said they had also lined up a lot of entertainment activities adding that people should attend in their numbers.
He said they had courted a number of sponsors for the event.

“We are looking forward to holding a memorable show and we are calling on people to attend in their numbers.  There will be lots of prizes for revellers and T-shirts,” he said.

Chonzi said they had already identified the panel of judges from Beitbridge. Chonzi said prizes for the contestants will be availed to a listed  few.
