In an interview yesterday, Cde Mudau said the road network in her constituency was bad and was hampering development.
“The potholed roads are hampering even the monitoring of critical Government projects,” she said.
She said the worst affected roads were the Beitbridge-Masera, Toporo, Swereki, Malibeng and Shashe roads.
Ms Mudau said the bad state of the roads had resulted in public transport operators pulling off the routes, leaving the villagers at the mercy of private motorists who charge exorbitant fares.
It costs an average of R150 from Beitbridge to most surrounding areas by private transport and R60 by public transport.
Ms Mudau appealed to major mobile telephone operators to set up more base stations around the district where most people rely on foreign cellular services provided by either Botswana or South Africa.
