Over 800 students graduated, with 777 attaining Diplomas in Education and 96 graduating with HEXCO National Certificate.

The graduation ceremony was held under the theme “Transforming the Economy through Education 5.0.”

Speaking on behalf of the Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development Professor Amon Murwira, his deputy, Raymore Machingura, urged students to implement Education 5.0 skills.

“His Excellency pronounced our National Vision 2030 of becoming an upper middle-income economy.

“In order to fulfil this vision, the education sector must provide the necessary capabilities for industrialisation and modernisation.

“We must produce goods and services that are responsive to the needs of the people of Zimbabwe, which include food, water, shelter, innovation, physical and emotional connection.

“Education must therefore provide these needs that drive the improvement of the quality of life in a nation,” he said.

He urged teachers to play a significant role in the education system in Zimbabwe and Africa at large.

“Our new mandate of attaining Vision 2030 is in line with Education 5.0, which promotes a practical hands-on approach for innovation and development,” he said.
