Entitlement is the bane of the 2k generation!
A 20-year-old Bulawayo man was arrested after beating up his 34-year-old lover for failing to pay his rent.
Armed with a strong sense of entitlement that seems to course through the veins of this younger generation in huge amounts, Wayne Ndlovu of Nkulumane 5 suburb went ballistic after his girlfriend Princess Sibanda did not give him money for rent.
Western Commonage magistrate Jeconia Prince Ncube heard that love took a violent turn on May 13, 2026 at around 10PM.
Prosecutor Cathrine Kuzu told the court that Ndlovu and his girlfriend, Princess Sibanda (34), are in a romantic relationship.
The lovers crossed words when Ndlovu demanded money for rent.
Emotion overpowered logic as Ndlovu pushed Sibanda and repeatedly struck her against a wall after the disagreement escalated.
A battered and bruised Sibanda later made a police report, leading to Ndlovu’s arrest and his eventual appearance in court.
He did not dispute the allegations and pleaded guilty.
The magistrate handed down a US$130 fine, with a warning that failure to pay would result in a two-month prison term.
The fine is payable today, meaning Ndlovu is racing against time, possibly rethinking both love and budgeting skills.
