Bezu Villagers hail trust’s contribution to development

Villagers from Bezu village in Bulilima district, Matabeleland South, have expressed gratitude for the development projects carried out by the Bezu Development Trust since its establishment in 2019.

Founded by brothers Handsome Mcebisi Ndlovu and Zipho Ndlovu in collaboration with community leaders, the organisation played a pivotal role in improving local infrastructure and social services.

Among the trust’s notable achievements are the construction of the Bezu Clinic and a library at Bezu Secondary School.

Additionally, the trust provided meals for school children, supplied stationery, and arranged transportation for pupils on rainy days to ensure uninterrupted access to education.

One villager, Roland Ndhlovu remarked, “The Bezu Development Trust made a real difference in our community. The clinic and library have been invaluable, and the support for our children went beyond what we expected.”

However, the community also voiced disappointment over the sudden disappearance of the trust’s members, who have since vanished from the village without explanation.

The trust was reportedly last active in July 2023.

“We appreciate all the work that was done, but it is disheartening that the organisation has since disappeared. We hope the Bezu Development Trust can resume its work or that other organisations will step in to continue the development projects,” said another resident.

The villagers remain hopeful that renewed efforts will be made to further the progress initiated by the Bezu Development Trust, ensuring sustainable development and improved quality of life for the community.
