Bhasera wants early return

club’s early prognosis that his cruciate knee ligament surgery on March 21 rules him out until next year.
The injury appears to have scuppered a summer move for the Zimbabwe international to long-time suitors, Crystal Palace.
Bhasera (24) damaged cruciate ligaments during the English League One club’s 2-0 defeat at Hartlepool on March 12.
Pilgrims boss Peter Reid said: “Bas has had the operation but it will be a nine-month job.”
But the defender told New Zimbabwe.com doctors were more positive.
“I think nine months is the worst case scenario.
“I’m spending a fair amount of time with doctors every week as they monitor my progress and I hope to be back playing at least by December,” he said.
Bhasera says he is frustrated at being unable to help the League One club’s relegation fight.
He will also miss Zimbabwe’s crucial African Cup of Nations Group A qualifying matches against Mali in June, Liberia in September and Cape Verde in October.
“It’s a tough time because I felt my game was coming up well. But I have to be patient and stay positive,” he said.
By the time Bhasera returns, Plymouth will most likely be playing in League Two, the fourth tier of English football. They are currently bottom of League One, eight points off safety, with just five matches to play before the season ends.
His manager Reid added: “It’s just one of those things. But the way medical science is these days, they usually come back stronger.
“The most important thing is getting him back.” – New Zimbabwe.
