Contemporary musician Bhila – real name Patriarch Manyabi, has officially gone national as a creative, registering his first show outside of Bulawayo as he is set for a performance at Victoria Falls’ River Brewery on Saturday (6 July).
His performance will coincide with the famous Econet Victoria Falls Marathon which will be held on Sunday (7 July).
Bhila’s maiden appearance at Mosi Oa Tunya will give him a chance to be a starter in providing entertainment to tourists and athletes ahead of the main Marathon gala set for Sunday Night at Baobab Primary School which will feature Jah Prayzah, Winky D, Feli Nandi, Nutty O, Tocky Vibes and DJs King Her and Chiweddar.
The muso who will be visiting the resort for the first time in his life, said that he is super excited ahead of his Victoria Falls performance. He promised to deliver a splendid performance as he will belt out songs from his cherished Extended Play Iphephandaba.

“I approached the management at River Brewery and sent them some of my live performances, of which they were impressed by my sound and the fact that I perform live with a band. Months later, they called me to come and perform there.
“It’s my first time performing in Victoria Falls and with this maiden appearance I promise to leave a mark and establish a new fan base that will be part of the Bhila family.
“I am also hoping to meet other creatives from Victoria Falls and share ideas on how we can cultivate our craft through possible collaborations. I’ve been told there are great live performers there and it will be nice to learn from them,” said Bhila.
As an up and coming artiste who might face financial constraints, Bhila incorporated some of the local instrumentalists into his band for the maiden Victoria Falls performance.
“I am super excited and energised ahead of this show at the same time remaining humble as I have a big task ahead which is to deliver. Thus, I pray and continue rehearsing to polish up my set so that on the day I level things up.
“I will perform with a live band. I have Josh uVodloza as my bassist and Trotsky Beats as my drummer – they are both from Victoria Falls. Also as part of the band is Nkosi Nda on keys as well as backing vocalists, said Bhila.
