VICTORIA FALLS-based musician Khumbuza Ncube, popularly known as Bhorabhora, is set for a busy weekend, with performances in Lupane and Bulawayo alongside rhumba sensation Clement Magwaza.

The two musicians previously shared the stage in June this year when the Kokotsha hitmaker travelled to Victoria Falls to perform at Bhorabhora’s 35th birthday celebration, which featured a star-studded line-up of local artistes.

This weekend, Bhorabhora, who performs Lekompo, a genre blending traditional South African rhythms with modern house music and drawing influences from Amapiano and Bolo House, will curtain-raise for Magwaza at his album launch at Palace Hotel in Bulawayo on Saturday.

Before that, he will perform at KoMadafinya 2 Bar eMuramba in Lupane on Friday, bringing live entertainment to the usually quiet Matabeleland North provincial capital.

The musician has promised fans value for money and a refreshed sound following the recent incorporation of a live band into his performances.

“This will be my first time to perform in Lupane. Fans have been asking why I am not playing there, and now is their chance. I am coming to Lupane this Friday,” said Bhorabhora, who works for the Victoria Falls City Council.

He has expanded his stage line-up by adding a guitarist, a keyboard player and four dancers to his existing team of an MC and a DJ.

“My songs are receiving considerable airplay at various leisure spots, so I have decided to visit these places and give people the opportunity to meet the face behind the voice.

“I also want to use these shows to introduce our new style to the music industry, incorporating guitars and dancers. For Lupane, I promise a memorable live performance that fans will remember for a long time,” said the Ngithandana Lezanka hitmaker.

From Lupane, Bhorabhora and his team, Bhorabhora Entertainment, will travel to Bulawayo, where Magwaza is scheduled to launch his new CD album at Palace Hotel on Saturday.

“Magwaza came all the way to Victoria Falls to perform at my birthday celebration on June 30, so I felt it was only fitting to return the favour,” added Bhorabhora.

The musician has two more shows lined up, with performances scheduled for November 7 at Mashake in Tsholotsho and December 5 in Lumbora, Jambezi.

Since venturing into professional music in 2019, Bhorabhora has released four albums and close to 20 singles.

He described the year as a successful one, saying his career had grown beyond his expectations. He also expressed gratitude to the corporates and individuals who had supported his musical journey by helping create performance opportunities.

Known for his soulful vocal delivery and storytelling, Bhorabhora explores themes of love, relationships and social issues in his music, steadily building a following across the country.
