club-hunting following the expiry of his contract in Austria in June.
The Students’ coach Roger de Sa is interested in Majabvi, who is now a free agent, and is ready to pounce on the former Dynamos skipper.
But, Wits don’t have a foreign slot right now and they are waiting for their Uganda international defender Timothy Batabaire to get his South Africa residence permit.
Batabaire has been playing in South Africa since 2005 and is now eligible to apply for the permit, which enables him to play in the ABSA Premiership registered as a non-foreigner.
When that happens, which Wits believe could be soon, it could free up the space for Majabvi.
The former DeMbare skipper has been playing in Austria for the past two years and is currently in the country after trying his luck, without success, at Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs.
Amakhosi opted for Willard Katsande. Yesterday, the midfielder refused to talk about his future.
“I was still in Johannesburg and I was training with Wits because they are close to where I was staying.
“I am sorry I cannot say anything at the moment,” said Majabvi.
His manager Gibson Mahachi said a lot was happening behind the scenes but nothing has been finalised yet.
“There is nothing really to say at the moment concerning Justice. He is a free agent and we are not panicking.
“We are talking to some clubs in South Africa, Zamalek in Egypt and Europe and we will see how it goes,” said Mahachi.
Ajax Cape Town are also believed to be interested in the midfielder as a replacement for Katsande, who went to Kaizer Chiefs. But it appears the Urban Warriors are also considering Black Mambas midfielder Abbas Amidu but, given that he has a contract with the police side, he can only move during the next transfer window.
Meanwhile, Warriors’ fringe striker Simba Sithole is likely to be loaned to another club as his paymasters Sundowns have more than five foreigners in their ranks. The former CAPS United forward joined the Pretoria side in May, moving into a strike force which has seasoned players like fellow Zimbabwean Nyasha Mushekwi, Bafana Bafana chief striker Katlego Mphela, Mabhuti Kenyeza, Richard Henyekane and Lebohang Mokoena and newly signed Nigerian striker Gbolahan Salami.
