Africa’s biggest reality television franchise, Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), is set to make a grand return with its 11th season, promising bigger stakes, fresh twists and a record-breaking prize package.
The new season premieres on Sunday, July 26, with the launch show airing from 7pm on Africa Magic Showcase and Africa Magic Family channels on DStv. Fans will also be able to follow the drama, alliances and unexpected moments around the clock on DStv channel 198 and via DStv Stream.
The upcoming season will once again be hosted by popular media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who will guide viewers through the drama, strategic gameplay, tasks and surprises that have become synonymous with the franchise.
The winner will walk away with a historic ₦160 million (approx. US$115 000), grand prize, the biggest reward in the show’s history. The package includes ₦100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, setting the stage for what organisers have described as one of the most competitive seasons yet.
Atinuke Babatunde, executive head of Content and Channels, West Africa, MultiChoice, said the latest edition would continue the show’s tradition of delivering engaging storytelling and unforgettable entertainment.
“Big Brother Naija has consistently redefined entertainment in Africa by bringing together authentic storytelling, compelling personalities and moments that resonate with millions of viewers. Season 11 builds on that legacy with even bigger stakes, fresh twists and an exciting mix of housemates that will keep audiences engaged from premiere night through to the finale,” she said.
The new season will also see the arrival of major brand partnerships, with betPawa joining the reality show as headline sponsor, while Guinness returns as gold sponsor and Minimie comes on board as associate sponsor.
betPawa head of Local Marketing and CSR Borah Omary Ndanyungu said the partnership reflects the brand’s commitment to creating memorable experiences for audiences.
“At betPawa, we believe in creating unforgettable experiences that bring people together through the things they are passionate about. Big Brother Naija is one of Africa’s most celebrated entertainment properties, and we are proud to come on board as headline sponsor for Season 11.
“We look forward to rewarding fans, deepening engagement throughout the season and delivering exciting experiences that complement the energy and excitement of the show,” he said.
Babatunde welcomed the continued support from leading brands, saying the partnerships highlight the influence and reach of the BBNaija platform.
Since its revival in 2017, Big Brother Naija has grown from a reality television programme into a major cultural force across Africa, producing influential personalities, creating opportunities within the creative sector and shaping conversations around entertainment, fashion and popular culture.
