Big clash in Eastern Region

Takudzwa Chitsiga Sports Reporter
IT’S the big clash in the Zifa Eastern Region tomorrow when Hippo Valley and Mutare City clash in a top-of-the-table tie at Chishamiso.
Moses Chunga’s Hippo Valley have only lost once this season and if they can beat their nearest rivals, they will put clear daylight between themselves and the opposition.
In the Zifa Northern Region Division One, newboys Starbill are hopeful of a good performance in the second round fixtures, which resume this weekend.
The Northern Region league took a five-week break but the teams are back in action this weekend.
Starbill will travel to Dzivarasekwa to face Twalumba in what promises to be an exciting encounter.
Team manager, Rickson Zenda, says they are ready for the clash.
“We had some friendly matches and we did not stop training and we have a good team,” Zenda said.
“We base everything on teamwork and the new players have been blended with some experienced ones, something which we lacked in the first half.
“The return of Alvin Phiri from loan at Twalumba is good for us and having Talent Mandizvidza in splendid  form is a bonus.
“The young players did a good job for us but we just went through a rough patch in the closing stages.”
