THE Fashion Council of Zimbabwe (FCoZ) will be hosting the inaugural “meet and greet” event for all fashion creatives in Harare Province tomorrow at Alliance Francaise in Harare.

The organisation was established in 2018 and registered as a Trust in 2020.

FCoZ seeks to represent the interest of Zimbabwean Fashion Creatives (designers, pattern makers, mechanists, stylists, bloggers etc), by harnessing talent in the country’s fashion ecosystem as well as in the Diaspora.

FCoZ chairperson, Joyce Chimaye, said the aim was to grow the individual fashion businesses and the Zimbabwean fashion market.

“As FCoZ we are looking forward to engaging with all Fashion Creatives in Harare.

“Sharing FCoZ’s vision for the Zimbabwean Fashion Ecosystem and getting input from the Zimbabwean Fashion Community in Harare on how we can jointly grow the individual fashion businesses and the Zimbabwean fashion market.

“FCoZ goals are to change the mind sets around Zimbabwean fashion, showcasing and promoting Zimbabwean fashion brands and businesses nationally, regionally and internationally.

“Proper resource mobilisation and distribution within, and amongst Zimbabwean fashion creatives, professionalising, formalising and structuring of Zimbabwean fashion businesses.”

Chimanye said they have done various campaigns to boost the industry.

The FCoZ launched a Wear Zimbabwe campaign to encourage Zimbabweans to buy locally designed clothes last year.
