CAPS United new acquisition, Kelvin Madzongwe says he is not bothered to be deployed as a central defender.
The Green Machine face a real test when they take on Ngezi Platinum at Baobab tomorrow.
The anchorman made his debut for Makepekepe playing in an unfamiliar role last Sunday.
He partnered well with another defensive midfielder, who is slowly being converted into a central defender, by coach Lloyd Chitembwe.
Devon Chafa was the preferred anchorman and he did put up a good show.
Madzongwe said he was happy with how things turned out in his first appearance for Makepekepe but conceded they can do better.
They got their season underway with a 2-0 win over Manica Diamonds at the National Sports Stadium.
“I was happy with the way things went, it’s the first game of the season and you obviously want to start well as an individual and as a team.
“I’m happy bụt there’s still a lot to work on.
“It’s obviously a different feeling with enormous pressure considering the status of CAPS United as an institution and the backing the club has.
“I wanted to make a good first impression with a good performance, hopefully, that’s the impression the fans got.”
He feels Ngezi are the title favourites and insisted that they need to travel to Baobab with a positive mindset.
“It’s a different ball game altogether, away games are difficult and Ngezi have been consistent over the years which makes them title favourites
“It will be a difficult game bụt we’ve prepared enough and we need to go there with a positive mindset to avoid any setbacks.”
