BULAWAYO is buzzing and Chicken Inn have everyone guessing, with the club set to pull the curtain back on a sponsor that could confirm just how serious their title push really is.
The Gamecocks will unveil their new kit tomorrow evening, but the real spotlight will fall on the name across the chest, where weeks of whispers about fresh financial firepower are set to meet the cold light of day.
Behind the scenes, the former champions have been moving with purpose, snapping up some of the most sought after talent on the local market while adding foreign muscle as coach, Tonderai Ndiraya shapes a squad built to fight at the sharp end of the table.
The scale of that recruitment has raised eyebrows across the league and fuelled talk that more money could be flowing into the club as they look to keep pace with big spenders Scottland, Simba Bhora and FC Platinum.
Monday’s reveal now feels like more than just a kit launch. It is shaping up as a statement of intent from a club determined to remind everyone they still belong among the powerhouses of domestic football.
Club media officer Brighton Ncube confirmed the stage is set for what promises to be a headline grabbing night, though he kept his cards close to his chest on the identity of the sponsor.
“We will be unveiling our kit on Monday in Bulawayo and at the same time reveal our sponsors for this season. I cannot pre-empt the event by giving you who we are sticking to or who is our new sponsor. All that will be revealed next Monday evening,” said Ncube.
He said supporters should expect a reveal worthy of the excitement building around the team.
“All preparations for the kit unveiling are moving well and we have a beautiful kit and amazing sponsors on board this season.”
Chicken Inn have long enjoyed backing from Simbisa Brands, but their recent spending has sparked fresh debate over whether new partners could be stepping in to fuel a renewed assault on the title.
Across the terraces and in football circles the question keeps coming up, just who is powering this push and how far can it take them.
What is clear is that the Gamecocks have no intention of playing a supporting role this season.
Their transfer business has already sent a warning shot and the sponsor reveal could give the clearest signal yet that they mean business.
By the time the lights go down on Monday night the mystery will be gone and the rest of the league will know exactly what they are up against when the whistle blows on a season that suddenly feels a lot more interesting.
