WARRIORS midfielder Khama Billiat opened his scoring for Mamelodi Sundowns as they beat Wits University 2-1 in an Absa Premiership match over the weekend. Billiat hit the back of the nets in the 58th minute and condemned fellow Zimbabweans Denver Mukamba, Benjani Mwaruwari, Onisimo Bhasera and Thomas Sweswe to  defeat.

Billiat put up a man-of-the-match performance as he also provided an assist for Alje Schut who continued to inflict pain on Wits as he has now scored on three occasions against them.

The Warriors’ tricky midfielder almost put the visitors to the sword as early as the  seventh minute but was unfortunate to see his effort narrowly miss the target.

In the 12th minute he was at it again but this time he whipped in a cross for fellow countryman, Cuthbert Malajila, who forced a desperate save from Moneeb Josephs.

Sundowns finally went ahead in the 14th minute  when Schut’s header found the back of the net from a Billiat corner kick.
Another key Warriors player Knowledge Musona scored his second league goal for the reigning champions Kaizer Chiefs as they registered a 2-1 win over Platinum Stars in a game that former Hwange, Monomotapa and Dynamos forward Takesure Chinyama came in for Mduduzi Nyanda in the 71st minute.

Former Highlanders skipper and goalkeeper Tapuwa Kapini was in between the posts as his AmaZulu side snatched a point from Supersport United following a 1-1 stalemate.

Washington Arubi and Obadiah Tarumbwa were in action for Pretoria University who beat Golden Arrows 2-0.
In Europe, Vusa Nyoni’s Mons side in the Jupiler League in Belgium are now anchoring the log standings following a 2-4 loss to Mechelen although Nyoni was not part of the team.

Mons have managed just two points in eight matches this season and are already relegation favourites.
Former Caps United and Mamelodi Sundowns forward, Nyasha Mushekwi, seems to be finding life a little bit difficult in Belgium.
He struggled to command a starting place and was not even in the team for a visit to Gent where KV Oostende drew 1-1 with the home team.
Mushekwi had a dream debut for the Belgian side scoring in his opening game.

In the Czech Republic, former AmaZulu hardman Costa Nhamoinesu was at his usual best in defence as Sparta Praha drilled four goals past Slovacko to open a four-point lead at the top.

Slovacko managed to get a face saver though.
Vaslui in Romania who are home to Mike Temwanjira drew 1-1 with Brasov with the Zimbabwean shown a yellow card in the 48th minute.
There was a shock win for Quincy Antipas’ Brondby in Denmark as they beat middle placed AGF 3-1.
