Billiat shortlisted for CAF top award

RED hot Mamelodi Sundowns striker Khama Billiat has been shortlisted for this year’s Caf African Player of the Year and African Player of the Year based in Africa awards.

The nomination caps a fine period that has seen the former Caps United player reach the Caf Champions League final with his South African club and also play a crucial role in Zimbabwe’s qualification for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

Billiat is named in the African Player of the Year Award shortlist alongside Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani both of Algeria together with Manchester City’s Eric Bailey, last year’s winner, Borrusia Dortmund’s Emerick Aubameyang, team mates Keegan Dolly and Dennis Onyango and Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper, Itumeleng Khune. Three time winner, Samuel Eto’o also made the cut.
