Bindura runs out of water chemicals

Mash Central Bureau
BINDURA Municipality has run out of water treatment chemicals resulting in the town going for three days without supplies last week. In an interview last week, Bindura mayor councillor Carlos Tokyo said suppliers were refusing payments in bank transfers and bond notes, a situation that compounded the town’s water woes.

He said if the situation persisted, the local authority would be forced to shut down all council schools until the situation improved.

“Council has run out of water treatment chemicals and residents have gone for days without water supplies,” said Cllr Tokyo.

“Most of the companies that supply the chemicals are demanding payment in forex.

“If the situation continues like this, we will be forced to temporarily close down all council schools until the situation improves.”
