BINDURA United assistant coach Zacks Kataya wants the log leaders to put behind them the disappointment of the setback they suffered when lost to DStv Rangers in the World Navi Northern Region Division One league last weekend.
Kataya’s men have dropped four points in their last two outings having drawn 0-0 against Commando Bullets before losing 1-0 at DStv Rangers.
This weekend Bindura United will welcome Blue Swallows at Chipadze and Kataya wants a reaction by his team. “The games against Commando and DStv that we lost are now in the past, it’s all behind us now. It was just a bad day in office. We hope luck will be with us when we play Swallows this weekend.
“In the last game we had our own chances but we were not precise in front of the goal.
“It’s a must-win game so that we release pressure for the technical team and the players. We told the guys yesterday this is a must-win. When we played Seven Flames at Rufaro we lost, but we went back and regrouped and that’s what we have been telling our boys.
“Our supporters and directors won’t be expecting anything less than a win. If we can win eight consecutive games why can’t we win one game?” said Kataya.
Kataya said they are not expecting to lose more points as they go into this game. “We are not looking at other teams, but what we are saying is we could have won those matches. Dropping points unnecessarily is not good, it’s not healthy,” said Kataya.
Bindura United director Ishmael Jack said they are happy with the way the team has adapted to the competition in the Northern Region league and have now set their sights on claiming the title.
“It’s an exciting thing because when we came from Division Two we thought Division One was tough, but we are finding it easy and come end of year anything can happen.
“So far the boys have been playing well because as we know in soccer many things can happen. Teams we are playing want to win, sometimes you get a draw and sometimes you lose but the boys are doing well.
“And I believe we will win this weekend’s game because everyone is geared up,” said Jack.
Bindura are currently leading the race with two points ahead of second placed Mushowani Stars.
