change of heart after last weekend’s arrest over non-payment of maintenance.
Amanda, who is 11, has been without the document despite spirited efforts by her mother to convince Allan to assist.
“Men never cease to amaze me. Why do you want to be pushed to take responsibility? For the past 11years Allan has been reluctant to get his daughter Amanda have a birth certificate giving excuses that he had a heavy work schedule and could not come to Kadoma. At one point I confiscated his ID but that didn’t work,” Mildred said.
She was relieved that they finally acquired the document and will have now peace of mind after waiting for so long.
Allan was seen queueing at the Kadoma Registrar-General’s offices last week but few people recognised him.
“I love my daddy and whenever I am at home doing my homework I only listen to the Chimbetu songs. My dad is a great singer and I am longing for the day he will take me to one of his shows,” said Amanda.
Allan was recently arrested and later released for defaulting on paying maintenance to his estranged wife Mildred The “Sonny” hitmaker was issued with a warrant of arrest in September by a Kadoma magistrate.
The long arm of the law finally caught up with Allan in Gokwe soon after his performance at the Unity Gala on December 14.
