Mr Tsvangirai plans to wed new wife Ms Elizabeth Macheka at Rain Tree Lodge in Umwinsidale, Harare on Saturday.
Bishop Kadenge filed his opposing papers to the application yesterday arguing he was wrongly cited.
Through her lawyers, Venturas and Samukange, Ms Karimatsenga, filed her interdict last week.
High Court judge Justice Antonia Guvava is expected to hear the case today in her chambers.
Bishop Kadenge is also seeking an order for cost of suit against Ms Karimatsenga.
“I contend that the applicant has improperly cited me as a respondent. I also did not understand why I have been cited in my personal capacity.
“It has been incorrectly cited that I am set to be the marriage officer on the wedding between the first and second respondents (PM Tsvangirai and Ms Elizabeth Macheka).
“I feel my integrity and the credibility as a minister has now been dragged into a circus that I am not a party to. I therefore have nothing to do with the wedding…,” read the opposing papers.
The Bishop said he had to hire expensive lawyers to defend a case he is not aware of and that he was claiming costs of the suit.
Registrar General Mr Tobaiwa Mudede, PM Tsvangirai and Ms Macheka are expected to respond today.
Meanwhile, the maintenance hearing pitting Mr Tsvangirai and Ms Karimatsenga has been set for next Friday at the civil court in Harare.
Ms Karimatsenga is claiming $15 000 monthly from her estranged husband.
She wants the PM to contribute towards her upkeep and accessories, as she has been accustomed to.
Mr Tsvangirai’s lawyer Mr Innocent Chagonda of Atherstone and Cook yesterday said he was yet to prepare for the maintenance case.
He said the maintenance papers were served at the same time with the urgent chamber interdict.
To this end, he was still working on the urgent one set for today.
“We only received the maintenance papers but I have not yet gone through them,” said Mr Chagonda.
“I am still working on the urgent chamber application to be heard tomorrow (today) at the High Court.
“I will be able to give the PM’s response to the maintenance claim after dealing with the High Court application.”
In the maintenance claim, Ms Karimatsenga says she is customarily married to Mr Tsvangirai after the latter paid lobola to her parents in November last year.
Ms Karimatsenga contends she looked up to PM Tsvangirai for financial support and that she was now used to the high standard of life she enjoyed as the premier’s wife.
The $15 000 claim includes $3 000 for rent, $4 000 for groceries, $1 700 for hair and beauty therapy, $500 for the maid, $1 500 for clothing allowance, $300 for gardener, $1 000 for fuel and vehicle service and others.
