“Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.”
This age-old adage came to life in spectacular fashion when a 21-year-old Bulawayo woman turned into a whirlwind of rage, dousing her boyfriend in beer after catching him in a “text-ting” scandal.

Thembelihle Moyo, of Mahatshula North, pleaded guilty to charges of physical abuse when she appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Patience Madondo.

The fiery young woman was remanded in custody until 16 March for sentencing.
The court heard that on 4 October 2025, at around 2pm, the lovebirds were at Sompisi Shops in Mahatshula North when the afternoon took a violent turn.

The court will only deal with a constitutional issue where the remedy sought by the applicant is solely dependent upon the determination of that constitutional issue

Prosecutor Joseph Rugara told the court that after discovering “inappropriate” flirty messages between her boyfriend, Norman Moyo, and another woman, Thembelihle snapped.

She emptied a bottle of beer over Norman’s face before picking up a brick and striking him on the head.
In her defence, a fed-up Thembelihle told the court that this wasn’t her first time playing a digital detective.

She claimed she had discovered similar messages on Norman’s phone multiple times before.
She admitted that while she had previously turned a blind eye, she finally reached her breaking point after giving him countless chances to change his “player” ways.

Norman, nursing a sore head and a bruised ego, reported the matter to the police, leading to his girlfriend’s arrest.
The victim’s medical report is still pending and will play a crucial role in guiding the magistrate’s sentencing.
