IN a baffling case, a 58-year-old Chitungwiza woman allegedly forced her three sons, a six-year-old and eight-year-old twins to be intimate with her on several occasions, saying she was preparing them for aldulthood.
The woman is alleged to have abused each of them in full view of the other two brothers.
She later abandoned the family, forcing the three boys to seek refuge at their grandmother’s residence in the same neighbourhood. Then the youngest allegedly sexually assaulted the daughter of their grandmother’s neighbour.
When questioned why he had assaulted a neighbour, the boy revealed how their biological mother used to allegedly give them sex lessons at home.
Appalled by her daughter’s actions, the boys’ grandmother took the matter to police, leading to the 58-year-old’s arrest.
She was taken to Chitungwiza Magistrates Court charged with three counts of aggravated indecent assault before magistrate Mr Tinashe Tashaya, who remanded her in custody to March 23. Only the High Court can grant bail in such cases.
In April last year, alleges the State, the woman was staying with her three sons in a single rented room in Chitungwiza. She would sleep on the bed while her sons slept on the floor.
Ms Rumbidzai Mushonga alleges that one night, the woman called her sons to share the bed with her saying she wanted to teach them how tobe intimate.
She allegedly started with the six-year-old in full view of his other twin brothers. It is alleged that she abused her son on separate several times and would then turn to the twin brothers.
The court heard that the 58-year-old woman would threaten them with starvation if they revealed what she was doing or refused to accept her assaults at night.
