A GOOD manager is crucial for a business’ success, impacting employee morale, productivity and overall performance.
Effective managers motivate, guide and develop their teams, fostering a positive work environment and driving the achievement of business goals.
But certainly not the managers we have seen in some local watering holes!
First, it is a former manager of a well-known brand in the local beer retail business.
While the well-known brand in beer retail business is popular for its equipment that churns out icy cold beverages, the former manager has come up with his own small, but highly effective operations to compete with his former boss.
He is opening his own watering holes next to his former employer’s outlets dotted around the city.
Blabber sees something strange about this competition.
After digging deeper, Yours Truly was reliably informed that the former manager and his ex-employer parted ways acrimoniously.
Word on the street is that the former manager used to conduct all the company’s procurement purchases and, in the transactions, would use his own name as the client.
At some point, the purchases resulted in the company winning a truck in a wholesaler promotion.
The question is — who got the truck — the client on the receipts (the manager) or the owner of the business?
Your guess is as good as mine!
From that day on, Blabber is informed, their relationship was never the same.
Even the lengthy court hearing amounted to nothing, as the former manager walked away with what legally belonged to him, but perhaps not morally so.
To date, the former manager and his ex-employer are now competitors in business.
Blabber is hoping and praying that the competition starts and ends in beer retail.
We strongly fear that the two will also compete in bedding their female employees, a contest that we all know the former employer will easily win.
So much for these engines of wise waters.
What is this that we hear about another classy uptown watering hole whose manager recently left?
I mean that other watering hole that was being managed by this other dude with an exaggerated sense of self-importance.
The watering hole, located uptown close to that other hotel where holidays are the in-thing, is known for its live jazz music as well as an array of DJs who perform at the venue.
Blabber really loves this watering hole and has great respect for its owner, a humble, kind and very likable guy who would not harm even a fly, but his business was suffering owing to this uncouth manager who is now a drug addict and peddler.
The ex-manager, who Blabber refers to as a drug addict and peddler, was a devout Christian, who attended church every Sunday, but somehow the bright lights of the city led him astray.
We all know and understand that puppies do not learn new tricks overnight, and we are thankful to the owner of the place for having finally realised the stumbling block in his business.
The only challenge we now face in this area is a female version of this departed dude, who has been running small businesses around the area, ranging from catering to meat retail.
This lady is cute, but her conduct is not.
