BLABBERMOUTH: Much as we mourn, we learn!

WHAT is this that we hear about this well-known young girl, rather young woman, who breathed her last recently after a lengthy, yet inexplicable illness.

We had known her for a very long time as an innocent woman trying to eke out a living from her duties in this other bookshop so close to Blabber’s workplace.

She was indeed a free spirit, a jovial character who would entertain anyone and everyone who needed her attention, especially on work related issues.

In short, she was a nice person to many.

However, she must have touched a live wire with bare hands for her life to end in such a miserable way.

Only a few months ago, with her unmistakable light complexion, we all saw how she was struggling to walk.

She was limping with difficulty and extreme pain as she tried to do one or two things in town.

Her weight deteriorated.

If it were years gone by, many would have easily mistaken her for someone suffering from that other deadly virus.

Be that as it may, there are two schools of thought that have been doing rounds because of this young woman’s strange ailment and Blabber has been listening attentively to it all.

First, there a section of locals who were close to this young woman who are so convinced that she tried her luck in amassing wealth quickly though underworld rituals.

Word on the street is that the move backfired badly leading to this strange illness.

On the other hand, there are some who are strongly convinced that the young woman suffered from this strange illness, all because of an affair she had with a married man.

Those who subscribe to this notion say she was bewitched by her lover’s wife because she was getting all the attention and resources at the expense of the married man’s children and wife.

One would easily believe any of the two lines of thinking, given the sudden change of things in her life as we saw her driving nice cars that we had no idea where she had sourced the money from.

Blabber is not jealous of anyone’s success, but Yours Truly strongly believes that success has to be accounted for.

Ask a number of elderly businesspeople around, they will tell you their rags to riches stories, punctuated by poverty, hard work and eventual amassing of wealth.

They just did not wake up rich.

This is the greatest lesson we can all learn from the very short life of this young woman that things do not come easily in life.

We just have to work for the things we attain.

Having said that, Yours Truly can only sign off by saying may her good soul rest in eternal peace!
