Yours Truly really does not wish to be harsh on our widowed sisters.
They are human, and no doubt they also need all the things that fellow human beings need.
However, dating after the death of one’s spouse is extremely challenging.
While one is still grieving the loss of their spouse, they may also struggle with loneliness and desire an intimate relationship.
One might think that they are ready to date again, but they probably also feel guilty, as if they are disrespecting their deceased spouse by moving on too soon.
Society has its way of seeing things too.
This is why Blabber honestly feels sorry for this widowed sister of ours.
The only thing that is worse than being hurt is everyone knowing that you are hurt.
It appears this is exactly what is affecting this widowed sister of ours.
Everyone knows how her husband deeply hurt her before his recent unexpected demise and this must have affected her to the extent that she is now carefree in her approach to sexual relations.
To put matters into context, she is the widow of this other departed runner who recently breathed his last under mysterious and unclear circumstances.
Instead of being a blessing, the boy was just a curse to his own wife and children as he unashamedly and brazenly showcased acts of infidelity in broad daylight.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that the widow is already bringing her boyfriend home.
One wonders how the little children are coping with the “new father” at home barely two months after the death of their biological father.
Perhaps the boyfriend has always been in the picture, only heavens know!
Whichever way, the only piece of advice for our dear widowed sister is that the boyfriend must take his responsibilities as a man.
Blabber sincerely hopes that the notice she was given to vacate her rented home in that other leafy suburb is not only about failure to pay rentals.
If the notice is based on failure to pay rentals, then why bring this boyfriend home?
If the notice is based on failure to pay rentals, is it worth the disrespect for her children who suddenly have a new father?
Surely, is it worth the disrespect to your matrimonial bed, dear widowed sister?
All this is just food for thought, dear widowed sister.
By the way, what is this that we hear about this other bouncer who died recently in our beautiful city.
Word reaching Yours Truly is that he assaulted this other old chap in one of our high density suburbs and in his bitterness, the old chap openly told him that would be the last time for him to beat someone.
Put simply, he was told that, “Wagumisira ndini.”
Before long, he breathed his last.
Yours Truly does not know whether the old chap’s words were the cause of the bouncer’s death, but like I have always said, the need to preserve the little that remains of our moral fabric keeps me going.
For now, I am out!
