South African global superstar DJ Black Coffee has honoured music legend Oskido in a special way, taking the veteran wheelspinner on a luxury holiday around the world as a gesture of appreciation for his contribution to his career.

The two music giants recently travelled to some of the world’s most celebrated destinations, including Ibiza and Mykonos in Greece, with Oskido revealing that the experience marked his first time travelling in a private jet.

Reflecting on the unforgettable trip, Oskido said the gesture was a reminder of how life can come full circle, especially when kindness and support are given without expecting anything in return.

“Twenty-one years ago, we saw something in Black Coffee when few people were paying attention. Today, look at what God has done with his journey.

“This weekend, he took care of me in Ibiza, then said, ‘Bhuda, let’s go to Greece in Mykonos.’ The next thing I know, I am on a private jet for the first time in my life.

“Life has a beautiful way of coming full circle. Give from the heart. Don’t keep score. God can multiply it in ways you could never imagine,” said Oskido.

Oskido played a pivotal role in shaping Black Coffee’s career, identifying his talent at a time when the internationally acclaimed DJ was still finding his feet in the music industry.

In 2005, Oskido signed Black Coffee under his influential label Kalawa Jazmee, releasing the artist’s self-titled debut album. Beyond the recording deal, Oskido provided mentorship, industry guidance and opportunities that helped lay the foundation for Black Coffee’s rise to global stardom.

Today, Black Coffee stands as one of Africa’s biggest musical exports, having performed on some of the world’s biggest stages, while Oskido remains celebrated as one of the pioneers who helped shape South Africa’s house music movement.

The holiday was not just a celebration of friendship, but a touching reminder of the impact of opening doors for others and nurturing talent when it matters most.
