Black Mambas bite How Mine

VETERAN striker Last Chibwiro rose from the bench to score the proverbial sucker punch as police side Black Mambas snatched victory with the last attack of this Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match at Morris Depot yesterday.

Chibwiro, who has been drafted into the Warriors side leaving for an international friendly in Malawi today, replaced Honey Chimutimunzveve in the 83rd minute and then grabbed a sensational header in injury time to deny How Mine at least a crucial point on the road.

The former Motor Action, CAPS United and Kiglon striker got to the end of a high cross from Paida Madziro to beat How Mine goalkeeper Pedzisayi Gumiremhete and the goal was greeted by wild celebrations from the predominantly Zimbabwe Republic Police recruits who were cheering their team.

“When I got into the match, the coach told me to go in and hustle so that we get a goal. It appeared were we failing to finish off in the box and the coach said I should press forward.

“I am glad that I managed to score and this goal has boosted my confidence ahead of the Malawi game,” said Chibwiro.
Chibwiro said he is now hoping to cement a place in the Warriors squad ahead of the Cosafa Castle Cup matches in Zambia.

“It has been long since I last scored in a match. This is my second goal and I am happy because it’s a special goal for me,” said Chibwiro.
Going into this match, Black Mambas had beaten Buffaloes 2-1 while How Mine had stunned the highly fancied Highlanders by the same margin.
