TEN-MAN Black Rhinos bounced back to winning ways when they dismissed second-placed ZRP FC Commando yesterday in an entertaining Northern Region Division One Soccer League match.
The army side came into the match looking for a win having gone for two draws in their last assignments against Gunners and Mushowani.
Two first half goals from Herbert Rusawo in the 30th minute and Kelvin Chiripawako in the 41st minute is all Rhinos needed to collect a full set of points.
Rusawo converted a penalty when ZRP FC defender Wilberforce Chiramba was adjudged to have handled inside the box.
Chiripawako then scored from close range when he beat ZRP FC goalkeeper Admire Masuku in a congested box. Rhinos were then reduced to 10 men when Chiripawako was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 69th minute.
The game started on a slow pace with both teams struggling to settle in the first 20 minutes. The home side, however, upped their game and put some pressure on their opponents which saw Chiramba handling inside the box and the goal by Rusawo swung the pendulum in Rhinos favour as they dominated most of the exchanges. Rhinos coach, Droment Chirova was pleased with the result as they seek to move up the log table from fourth position. Despite winning Rhinos remained fourth behind Gunners because of goal difference.
“It was a good game, well planned and I thank my players because they played according to our preparations which we started from the previous game which we lost to ZRP FC 1-0 (in the first round).
