FORMER Highlanders striker Ndumiso “Tsuro” Vundla, who had been blind for more than fi ve years, has fully regained his sight.
Tsuro, part of the trailblazing Highlanders squad that had the likes of Zenzo Moyo, Thabani Masawi, Siza Khoza, Gift Lunga Jnr and Amon Chimbalanga, among a host of star players, first went partially blind around 2013 before losing total sight the following year.
“I can now see after undergoing surgery in South Africa. I will forever be grateful to everyone who stood by me and the team of doctors that worked on my surgery. I hope to get back to work soon,” said Vundla.
“In all those years that I had lost my sight, I couldn’t even attend matches at Barbourfields and it hurt me so much, but I guess everything happens for a reason. Naturally I also stopped working as a result, but I am looking forward to getting back to the classroom now,” said Vundla, who is a qualified teacher.
He did his training at Hillside Teachers’ College in Bulawayo where he majored in English.
