Blot pens song on drug abuse

ZIM dancehall chanter, Takura “Blot’ Chiwoniso, has penned a song against drug abuse titled “Bulbing” set to be released on October 31.

Blot’s refreshing song has been included in the upcoming Fireborn riddim.

The promotional video drop, which is circulating on social media with Blot singing the forthcoming track, has left Zim dancehall fans asking for more.

Producer of Fireborn Studio, Linksway, said it was important to have Blot singing on their riddim since he is one of the artists mostly accused of abusing drugs by people.

“Blot is one of the talented and loved artists in the country.

“By including him in our riddim, especially singing against drugs, it’s a positive thing.

“He is a role model to many young people out there, if he speaks against drugs it helps a lot.

“He has been accused a lot of abusing drugs, this song will send a clear message to people,” said Linksway.

Linksway said the track Bulbing is a song against the abuse of crystal meth.

“Bulbing only means bharubhu in vernacular. It refers to crystal meth, also known as guka, which is being widely abused by many youths.

“It’s sad there are cases of youths dying because of these drugs,” he said.

The Fireborn riddim also has popular artists like Silent Killer, Van Choga and Uncle Epatan.

It will also have upcoming artists such as Ginna Marina, Ras Shine, Mbida Dee and others.

Linksway said they were, however, expecting to add more  bigger names since their aim was to bring back the riddim culture in Zim dancehall.

Other songs to look forward to on the riddim are Hana Inorova by Van Choga, Ndokakurira by Uncle Epatan and Ameche by Silent Killer.
