The country’s biggest car spinning movement – the Blow Out Festival – will finally be making its way to Bulawayo with activities including burnouts, bike static, car displays as well as fireworks at the ZKS Spinners Arena on 22 February.

The Blow Out Festival is an initiative by celebrated promoter Arnold “Selekta Base” Chingwerere, who will be celebrating ten-years of investing and spreading spinning and drifting influence across Zimbabwe at the event.

Situated at Emthunzini near Khami Dam, the ZKS Spinners arena proved to be the best facility to host a show of such high profile as it is the first new-age arena, which supports car drifting and spinning, ensuring that the sport is appreciated and instilled to be a culture in the country.

Themed: “A celebration of car culture, music and lifestyle,” the event will feature different spinners including the people’s favourites Amakhosi, Mac D, Ben, AK47, Sbahle Mavusane, Mastanda, The Rock, King Fly, Team Baby Driver, King Dee and Damian Dirty Boyz.

Other spinners who will do duty at the event are Team Unique, Team Ghost, Manyuchi, Captain, Raza (Team Mahogany), Ben V8 Kings, King Yago and Mabhudi, as well as Mad 263 (Team Clinic).
Music lovers will have a good time as they will witness various acts on stage including Zim Hip Hop award-winning-rapper Bagga, King 98, award-winning club wheel spinner DJ Nospa as well as Royal DJs from Harare.

Selekta Base who is based in Harare said they are thrilled to be bringing the Blow Out festival to Bulawayo as he said the city of Kings is amongst places in the country where drifting and spinning is embraced.

“The Blow Out Festival countrywide tour has begun. We are celebrating ten years of car culture, music and lifestyle. As part of our anniversary celebrations, we will be in Bulawayo on February 22.

“As the year progresses, we will be taking the movement across the country, bringing the excitement to cities and towns nationwide. It’s an honour to start the decade-celebrations in the city of Kings because this is one place where car drifting and spinning is celebrated. We are looking forward to having fun at the same time fostering good relations with drifters and fans from Bulawayo,” said Selekta Base.

Zakhele “Mabaso” Mlilo who is the founder and director of ZKS Spinners Arena said they are working tirelessly – preparing the event to be superb.

“Initially, according to our activities calendar, we announced that we will have an event on 21 February, which is the Youth Day. We would like to emphasise to those following us that the event has been shifted to 22 February.

“Selekta Base is a brother who has been pushing the spinning and drifting sport for years now and as ZKS we saw it fit that we give him the support he needs and make sure that this event comes to fruition.

“We encourage people to come in numbers and have fun with us as we celebrate this sport. Advanced tickets are available at Veezed Alignment Centre,” said Mabaso.

The festival is empowered by Auto Quip, Proton, Bavarian, Pacific, Extreme Entertainment, Clouds To You as well as Solatek, amongst other sponsors.
