THE Bob@90 Super Cup final, which had been billed for this Sunday at Rufaro, has been postponed. The final will feature giants Dynamos and Highlanders in what could be an explosive pre-season meeting but fans will have to wait a little longer for the clash.
Highlanders booked their ticket into the final after beating Harare City 2-1 at Barbourfields on Sunday with the Warriors duo of Peter Moyo and Milton Ncube on target for Bosso.
New Harare City forward Misheck Mburayi had given his side the lead before Highlanders rallied from behind to win the elimination match.
Dynamos, by virtue of being the defending champions, were handed a bye into the final and are now set to play Highlanders in a repeat of the last year’s final.
Spokesperson for the Bob Super Cup organising committee, Charles “CNN” Mabika, yesterday said a new date for the final will be announced soon.
“The Bob@90 Super Cup which was set for this Sunday at Rufaro has been postponed to a later date,” said Mabika.
“New dates will be announced once they have been confirmed.
“We felt that the whole nation will be concentrated on Rudhaka (where the main celebrations will be held), so we will advise on the new dates.”
The football competition is held as part of the celebrations to mark President Mugabe’s birthday which falls on February 21.
Dynamos are going to play in the African Champions League on the next available weekend of March 1 and 2 as they host AS Vita of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The Glamour Boys will travel to Kinshasa the following weekend for the reverse fixture.
