Body Works Gym athlete shines at Mr and Ms Novice

BULAWAYO’S iron lady Selina Manuel of Body Works Gym took the honours by winning the women’s fitness category in the Mr and Ms Novice competition held at Long Cheng Plaza in Harare on Saturday night.

Manuel deposed her fellow Body Works Gym mate Shantel Batch, who won last year’s edition.

The event, organised by the National Federation of Zimbabwe Bodybuilding and Fitness, attracted a full house with bodybuilders coming from across the country.

There was also a heavy presence of competitors from the Zimbabwe Republic Police with Elizabeth Kayeruza, Nomsa Dube and Elizabeth Phiru coming first, second and third respectively in the Strength and Fitness women’s competition.

Lovejoy Chaduka of Oxygen, Harare, was first in the Men’s Fitness category followed by ZRP Harare’s Tinotenda Gumbo, with Edvaldo Mateus of Fitness Planet of Harare settling for third place.
