ZIMBABWEAN mixed martial arts heavyweight fighter Elvis “Bulawayo Bomber” Moyo says he is full of energy and “super excited” as he heads into his next big bout at the Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) 122 event in South Africa later this year.
Moyo, who has been eagerly awaiting a chance to step into the ring following several cancellations, is excited to face off against Antony Morel with the fight scheduled for April 10.
This contest comes on the back of a cancelled bare-knuckle match with Matunga Djikisa, which was originally scheduled for October 10 last year.
With no further delays in sight, Moyo is determined to prove himself and take his career to the next level.
“I have been training hard and sparring already.
“The cancellation of previous fights was frustrating, but I have used that time to build my strength and technique,” said Moyo.
“Now, it’s all about getting my weight right and being in the best possible shape. I know Antony Morel is a tough opponent, but I am ready for him.
“I have been working non-stop to prepare for this fight,” he said.
Moyo is particularly focused on managing his weight ahead of the fight.
“I am working on my weight now.
“My goal is to reach 126 kg by March 1, when I will be fully geared and ready to perform. I know I have what it takes to come out on top.”
With his intense focus on preparation, the heavyweight fighter is also confident that the upcoming bout will mark a new chapter in his fighting career.
“It has been a long road, with a lot of setbacks, but this fight is my chance to show what I’m truly capable of,” he said.
“I have learned a lot through the cancellations and setbacks and want to use those lessons to come back stronger.
“When I step into that cage on April 10, it is going to be my time to shine.
