ZIMBABWEAN heavyweight boxing and mixed martial arts exponent Elvis “Bulawayo Bomber” Moyo is gearing up to face Antony Morel at Extreme Fighting Championships (EFC) 122 on April 10 in South Africa.
This highly anticipated contest comes after the cancellation of his bare-knuckle fight against Matunga Djikisa, which was scheduled for October 10 last year.
Moyo is excited to get this fight after several cancellations of intended fights.
“It’s been a rough road. One should know the commitment to training needs rewards. So after the bare-knuckle failure in October, I continued training, hoping to get a customer for December, then March.
“Finally, it’s April, signed and sealed; now I train inspired. I have a customer, and I am coming back to start at the deep end, which is super exciting.
“My opponent knows I am old school, so we’re going to smash each other properly. That’s going to be fun, said Moyo.
Despite knowing little about his opponent, Moyo is confident of emerging victorious.
“I really do not know about the Frenchman. He is a bit of a novice with only five fights. I have to focus on executing my plan well. I will smash him. I’ll come in super fit and just pummel him into submission.”
As the fight approaches, Moyo is growing increasingly eager to step into the ring.
“I have been waiting for this moment for what feels like an eternity. I am ready to put on a show and prove myself as a force to be reckoned with in the heavyweight division,” said Moyo.
Moyo is well aware of the challenges that lie ahead, but he is undaunted by the prospect of facing a relatively unknown opponent.
“I’m not worried about Morel’s skills or experience. I’m focused on my own game plan and executing it to perfection.
When I do, I’m confident that I’ll emerge victorious.”
With his sights firmly set on victory, Moyo is training harder than ever to ensure that he is in top physical condition for the fight.
“I’m leaving no stone unturned in my preparations,” he said.
“I’m pushing myself to the limit every day, and I’m confident that it will all pay off on April 10.”
