Bon Vie Medical Aid Scheme review downwards monthly contributions

BON Vie Medical Aid Scheme has reviewed downwards monthly contribution rates for all schemes in a development expected to bring relief to clients.

Although some medical aid societies are yet to review member contributions, patients have had to fork out extra money to cover shortfalls.

A circular from Bon Vie medical aid scheme said contributions will be decreased with effect from 1 September.

“We are pleased to inform you that your medical aid is reviewing contributions downwards effective September 1, 2023,” reads part of the circular to clients dated 7 August.

The medical aid firm has three schemes covering corporates, small and medium enterprises, and individuals.

 According to the new rates schedule, monthly adult cover for corporates under the Oak category has been reduced to  $805,000 from $920,000.

Annual cover for Oak clients will cost $ 448,000,000 from $512,000,000.

In the same category, students or children’s cover will be pegged at $567,000 up from $648,000 while senior citizens will pay $875,000 from $1 million.

Clients under MedAccess, the cheapest plan, are expected to pay annual rates of $11,200,00 down from $12,800,000.

Annual Small and medium enterprises cover under Oak has been reduced  to $488,000,000 from $512,000,000 and adults are expected to pay monthly contributions of $885,500 from $1,0 million.

Students under Oak will pay $623,700 from $712,800 and senior citizens will contribute $962,500 from $1,1 million.

Bon Vie Medical Aid said monthly individual rates for adults under Oak will be pegged at $1,006, 250 from $1,150,000 will annual cover dropping to 448,00,000 from $512, 000,000.

Monthly contributions for Teak clients are pegged at $866,250 from $990,000, Mukwa clients will pay $577,500 from 660,000.
