WITH just over a week before the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup comes to life, Coca-Cola’s senior marketing manager for Zimbabwe and Malawi, Barry Otieno said they are excited to be part of this year’s edition again.

The event is due to take place on March 8 at the Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga.

Coca-Cola through their Bonaqua water brand are the title sponsors of the event.

“We are thrilled to partner again with Bonaqua as the official hydration partner for the Africa Triathlon Cup,” said Otieno in a statement released yesterday.

“Our dedication to quality hydration aligns perfectly with the spirit of the triathlon, where endurance and performance are essential.

“A special thanks to our long-time sponsors whose commitment to this event has helped us create a platform for sporting excellence and community engagement.

“We invite all athletes, families, and sports enthusiasts to join us for a day filled with competition, camaraderie, and celebration of athleticism,” Otieno said.

Just like the previous editions, several co-sponsors are on board to support the event.

“As the official sponsor of the event, Bonaqua is proud to be recognised as the quality water brand that champions athletes and outdoor enthusiasts.

“We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our long-time co-sponsors who have stood by us throughout the years, making such a significant event possible.

“These include, Troutbeck Resort, CFAO, IGO, EcoCash, Simbisa Brands MCM Legal and Rooney’s,” reads part of the statement.

This year’s event aims not only to promote fitness and competition but also to foster a sense of community and appreciation for the natural beauty of Zimbabwe.

Triathlon Zimbabwe have indicated they are looking forward to welcoming all the elite and junior athletes from around the world for the event.

The Africa Cup runs concurrently with the Africa Junior Cup.

Several local junior athletes are expected take part in the Africa Junior Cup.

The event has over the years evolved to become a multi-sport festival with various other events being part of the programme on the day.

The Zimbabwe National Triathlon Championships also take place on the same day.
