COCA-COLA Franchise, marketing portfolio manager Zimbabwe, Faith Nehanda, said the professionalism exhibited by the Triathlon Association of Zimbabwe has strengthened the relationship between them.

Coca-Cola and Triathlon Association of Zimbabwe have been in partnership for the past nine years.

Coca-Cola has sponsored the Bonaqua Africa Triathlon Cup that takes place at the Troutbeck Resort in Nyanga.

Speaking at the Bonaqua Triathlon media workshop held at a local hotel yesterday, Nehanda said:

“As Coca-Cola, we believe sport is an essential part of our lives. The triathlon which combines swimming, cycling, and running, aligns with our Bonaqua brand very well.

“There is a perfect fit between Bonaqua and triathlon as they both enhance the mental and physical growth of an individual. They assist in developing confidence and in making a complete personality in keeping our body fit, while increasing mental sharpness.

“Sports keep us motivated and builds a friendly competitive environment for growth. It also stresses on team building activities as teams are involved in triathlon. It removes hesitation and motivates us to move forward in life after all hurdles and obstacles.”

She said sport is a crucial part of life and it helps participants and fans to learn various virtues like teamwork, tolerance and coordination.

“As the Coca-Cola Company and our bottling partner, Schweppes Zimbabwe Limited, we are pleased to sponsor this event which has been of great value to the country and athletes. Triathlon has been a good model when it comes to promoting sports tourism.

“We want to thank other corporations which also sponsor the Bonaqua Troutbeck African Triathlon Union such as African Sun, CFAO Motors, Cimas, Ecocash and Rooneys. It is through such mutual interests and commitment to plough back to society that together we can develop,” she said.
