Timely Toolbox FC chairman, Malvin Chambati, said they have managed to create a big fan base which travels with the team wherever it goes.
The team comprises workers from Timely Toolbox Enterprises, which offers services in panel beating, spray painting, car service and suspension, among others.
“The team was formed as a way of motivating our employees to keep fit, and to network,” said Chambati.
“We normally play against our customers, and our stakeholders. The main aim of the team is to network and build strong relationships that go beyond business with our customers and employees as well.
He said their growing fanbase was testament to their good customer care.
“We have a big support base that rallies behind our team. They are drawn from our employees and customers.
“It’s easier for them to support our team because it’s a company-funded boozers’ team. Our members don’t need to pay anything, as it is also part of our corporate social responsibility. Our company takes care of the costs of hiring grounds, transporting players and fans as well as refreshments.
Chambati believes social football has helped them as a team in many aspects.
“It keeps us fit, and some young players have managed to get jobs through networking. Most of the young guys in our squad are also being kept away from drug and substance abuse.
“It also helps our company boost employee morale,” he said.
