ZIMBABWABWE’S popular winter outdoor entertainment experience, the Zambezi Lager Bonfire Festival, is set to return on July 4 at Donnybrook Park in Harare, marking the revival of one of the country’s most recognisable seasonal social events after a four-year break.

The announcement was made by organisers, Delta Beverages, who said preparations are already underway for what is expected to be a significantly expanded edition of the festival under the theme “Zimbabwe’s Own Bonfire.”
The event has traditionally combined live music, outdoor leisure activities, food and beverage experiences, and social spaces built around a central bonfire, attracting large crowds from across the country during the winter season.

Organisers say the 2026 edition will place strong emphasis on recreating the atmosphere that made the festival a staple of Zimbabwe’s entertainment calendar while introducing new experiences designed to enhance audience engagement.
To build anticipation ahead of the main event, a series of Bonfire Micro Events will be held across three cities. The first took place in Kadoma at Odyssey Lodge on June 13, and will be followed by Bulawayo at Hartsfield on June 20, and Harare at The Jam Tree on June 27.

The main festival will run from 12pm to 2am at Donnybrook Park on July 4. Tickets are priced at USD 20 for general access and USD 50 for VIP access, with sales available through Click n Pay platforms and selected Liquor Supplies outlets nationwide.

While the full entertainment line-up is yet to be announced, organisers confirmed that live performances, lifestyle activations, and expanded outdoor experience zones will form part of the programme.
The return of the festival has been welcomed by sections of the public who view it as a key highlight of the winter social calendar. Industry observers say the revival reflects renewed demand for large-scale outdoor entertainment experiences in Zimbabwe.
Further details, including performing artists and additional event features, are expected to be released in the coming weeks as excitement builds toward the July event.-@FungaiMuderere
