BOOST FOR QUADRUPLETS

THE Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Service officer, Anesu Mukutotsi, shed tears of joy after receiving donations for his quadruplets from Phakhamani Simukai Women’s Club and other well-wishers at Kwekwe Prison on Tuesday.

Mukototsi had been asked to address the gathering.

But, he could not utter a single word as tears streamed down his cheeks.

Speaking at the handover of the donations, national chairperson of the Phakhamani Club, Marian Chihobvu, congratulated the young couple for their blessings and pledged her club’s continued support for the family.

“When we heard about the babies, we sat down with our members and raised some money to purchase children’s goodies (pampers, bathing dishes, milk, porridge, clothes).

“We are here to celebrate with the family and, as Phakhamani Women, we will continue to support this family in raising the children.

“We urge you to always put God first and pray for these blessings, these children will not suffer because we will always be there to support them,” said Chihobvu.

Family representative, Martin Muchineripi, saluted the well-wishers, on behalf of Patience Muchineripi, the mother of the babies, and Mukototsi.

“I am very happy because we overcame the most challenging stage, the birth stage, because we were worried whether she would make it.

“I want to acknowledge the support she got from her fellow employees, and ZPCS, as a whole.

“I want to thank you all for these contributions because they will go a long way in taking care of our grandchildren.

“Some people fail to take care of one child so now that you have been blessed with four children at once, you need to work hard, you need support and also to love each other,” said Martin.

He also revealed that having multiple babies at once runs in their family genes.

“This is not too surprising to us as the Muchineripi family because our aunt had triplets but our daughter here has increased the number to quadruplets,” he said.

The young couple now has five children.
