A small field of seven equine athletes has been accepted to run with trainers Gail Odendaal and Lisa Harris getting a strong hand by saddling two runners each.
Leading trainer Harris brings in Persian Heights (1) with Stalon Sawere holding the irons on the horse that is coming from a 70-day rest.
She also brings Bobby Soxer (5) with Derreck David on board.
At number two is the South African-bred King Kahal (2) who won on his debut by 5 lens and will get the services of rider Quinton Riddle.
King Kahal started rather slow in stride but blew the field on the finish and could once again repeat the feat tomorrow.
Newton Power by Gorkhan Terzi is also another horse to watch after he won by over 10.5 lens on his first run. While the debut run was over 1000m, Terzi will be praying that his runner will contain the extra distance.
Both Kahal and Newton Power will have to beat Who Dares Win (4) from the Seb D’Aquino yard.
At number 6, Only the Good should be fired up following a 112-day rest and Dixie Stampede completes the field of the runners that go to the starting stalls.
The racing organisers will be hoping for an incident free-day unlike at the last race day when two jockeys fell off their horses.
It was during race three over 1 700m that Covert broke its ankle after 50m and dislodged Gavin Lerena.
Causeway (Morgan Nyamagwete) tried to avoid hitting Covert and the jockey was thrown off and later rushed to hospital.
The horse Covert was put down because of the broken left lock.
